[Solution] Unable to launch ETS GRE Powerprep test practice window from Internet Explorer even after enabling Active X

When you click "Continue" button on the IE page, you find that a pop-up appears saying you have to use IE version 6.0 or higher and Active X content must be enabled. But in fact you might have done all of that and still this pop-up shows. Even I got tired of that believe me that too a few days before the actual exam! The solution luckily which I found is to go to the installation directory and double-click on the launch.bat. You will find that the test window comes up as a java application. I hope you already know that Java is must to run powerprep. Try out this solution and I it works for you! All the best for your GRE!!

    2. i have faced the same problem which you have faced paridhi and i found the solution.First you have to install java and set the path for it.Download the java software and install it. you can set the path by the following methods:
1)go to control panel and click system security
      2)after that click system
3)next click on advanced system settings which is on the left side
4)a new pop window gets opened and click on environment variables
5)again new pop up window opens
6)under system variables click on new
7)it will ask variable name and variable value
8)type 'path' as the variable name
9)and for variable value copy the address and paste it in the column provided for the variable value
the address will be somewhat like this C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_65\bin

  14. Hi guys - I'm from Melbourne Australia - and I was really struggling with this problem on my Mac computer.

I managed to fix it on mac by installing the software from Java that comes up in the error message, and by installing this 'legacy java' software from Apple:

  17. I am facing the problem in launching the above software. I have tried all the above mentioned solutions but nothing seems to work. I clicked on the launch.bat file and the command prompt window disappeared. Please let me know of any solution is available. Also, in the environment variables, the path is already present. Should I add the path for java in the same?
